BioI'm a wife, mom, sister, friend, teacher. I'm a transplanted new yorker. I've lived in the sunshine state for 15 years. I've built a life here with my husband and kids, 5 and 3, and no matter how much I miss jones beach, the robert moses causeway and the LIE, I'll never move back. Most of my family is scattered across the states, and my sister will be here soon anyway.
I'm an avid scrapbooker. After 10 years of supporting my Creative Memories consultant, I finally succumbed to her gentle prodding, and became one too. I sell just enough product to my crop group and sister to support my own habit.
I love to read, but due to resonsibilities, I go through phases. I'll read 10 books back to back over a short time period, then nothing for a few weeks. My favorite genres are romance and mystery. I like some sci-fi and fantasy, as well. Currently my favorites are Twilight, The Southern Vampire Mysteries, The Mortal Instruments Trilogy and the Sookie Stackhouse mysteries. Some of my favorite authors are Elizabeth George, Nevada Barr, Sue Grafton, Patricia Cornwell, David Balducci, Anne Rice, Nora Roberts, and Janet Chapman. I also dig the Alex Cross mystery/thrillers. But my all time favorite book is The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay. I reread it at least once a year, and just recently discovered the sequel, Tandia.
I love to write. I'm currently working on a Twilight fanfiction.
As for music, I am a Madonna fan. I'm currently obsessed with the Twilight soundtrack, The Veronicas and Lady Gaga. I also am enamored of Justin Timberlake, and his music ;P. I like some easier r&b, and some dancy current pop music, like Britney Spears and more recently Rhianna and Beyonce, but as an 80's girl, I just go nuts for 80's tunes.
I'm a serial monagamist when it comes to 'ships. I find I have a hard time focusing on more than one or two at a time. LOL! So currently my big 'ships are Edward/Bella, eric/sookie and blair/chuck. Even as Grissom is poised to leave CSI, Grissom/Sara will always have my heart, as it was my first 'fandom.' Clary/Jace-The Mortal Instruments, and Jude/Tommy from Instant Star are favorites, as I am a sucker for unlikely pairs. Finally, since before 'ships, and fandom and Live Journal existed, Brenda/Dylan. I started watching 90210 recently and hoped they would be together, but TPTB put Kelly and Dylan together. Boo Hoo.
Some of my favorite shows are: The Closer, Saving Grace, True Blood, Gossip Girl, The Tudors, Madmen, Medium, Eleventh Hour, Without a Trace, Law and Order, orig and SVU, CSI, CSI Miami, and Moonlight. Before they were cancelled, I watched and still watch on dvd: Alias, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, FRIENDS, Sex and the City, and Dirt. I also like some reality tv, which my hubby will watch with me, such as Top Chef, and America's Best Dance Crew (hence my liking of some dancy, light r&b music), City Confidential, Intervention, and I Survived. I love The Bachelor, and the Bachelorette, Tori and Dean, and shamefully ;P we watched every season of The Flavor of Love, I Love New York, and the Flavor of Love Charm School.
As for Actors and Actresses, I'll watch anything with Tom Cruise, Johnny Depp, Keanu Reeves, Rob Lowe, and Robert Downey Jr. (See my affinity for 80's icons?) Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Bradd Pitt, Clive Owen, and George Clooney too. More recently, when I'm in my cougar mindset, I enjoy Shia LaBeuf, Jonathan Rhys Myers, Henry Cavill, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, a short haired Daniel Radcliffe, and of course Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone and Peter Facinelli. I have to add Alexander Skarsgard, as he is my current obsession! My newest Cougar Crush, as I like to call it is for Ed Westwick and his character on Gossip Girl. Chuck Bass was the guy that I pined for in High School. and college. Dark, broody, sexy as hell. Totally out of my league, but boy did he feul my fantasy life. I can totally picture Ed Westwick as Edward. As for actresses, I like Reese Witherspoon, Julia Roberts, Kate Beckinsale, Kate Winslet, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Garner, Jenny Garth, Tori Spelling, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Sara Jessica Parker.
